Description:
A Rheumatoid Factor (RF) Qualitative Test is a blood test used to detect the presence of rheumatoid factors, which are proteins produced by the immune system that can mistakenly attack the body's healthy tissues. This test is commonly used to help diagnose rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and other autoimmune conditions.

Key Information About the RF Qualitative Test:
Purpose: Primarily used in the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and other autoimmune disorders.
Procedure: A blood sample is taken and tested for the presence of rheumatoid factor.
Results:
Positive: May indicate RA, Sjogren’s syndrome, lupus, or other autoimmune diseases.
Negative: Does not completely rule out RA, as some people with RA do not produce detectable levels of RF.
Additional Tests: RF is often used alongside other diagnostic tests like anti-CCP antibodies, C-reactive protein (CRP), and Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) to confirm a diagnosis.
